In general, when a new feature is added the date is changed, otherwise when a change enhances or fixes an existing feature the letter appended to the date is changed. Below is a list of the changes in the most recent update.

1st May 2010

  • Changed the View|Class name to the Options|Show class name command.
  • Changed the View|Student ID to the Options|Show student ID command.
  • Added "Prompt to save on close" to the Advanced options in the Edit|Preferences command.
  • Added the Options|Student name width command.

Earlier Changes

Here is a list of earlier changes. Updates are cumulative, so the latest update includes all changes to the Teacher's Personal Markbook. What this means is that you only ever need the latest update to ensure your copy of TPM is up to date.

15th January 2010

  • Fixed a problem with the LICENCE.NAF file prematurely preventing the program from running.
  • Improved the Tip of the Day so it doesn't appear when opening a markbook by double clicking on the file.
  • Changed the File|Export|Report command to use "SID" as the field name for the student ID.

15th July 2009

  • Fixed the printing in the landscape orientation for printers that previously did not work.
  • Improved the Edit|Paste command so it can work even when there is no class in the markbook.
  • Improved the spell checking of the Edit|Notes|Report comment command by increasing the number of words in the dictionary.

15th January 2009

  • Improved the Edit|Copy command to copy the text from the Help pages to the Windows clipboard.
  • Improved the Edit|Preferences command to allow clicking on the field for a folder, so it can be set with a pop-up Browse dialogue. For example, when setting the backup folder.
  • Improved the Grade Cut-off pop-up to remove unnecessary zeroes after the decimal point.
  • Improved the Grade Percent pop-up to remove unnecessary zeroes after the decimal point.
  • Added the new Average Highest tasks calculation type.
  • Added the new Combine Highest tasks calculation type.

15th December 2008

  • Improved the Edit|Paste command to be able to paste students into an empty markbook that that does not yet have a class.
  • Added the File|Recent files menu item to make opening previously opened markbooks easier and faster.
  • Added the Use colours on graphs option to the Appearance section of the Edit|Preferences command to allow for coloured graphs.
  • Added the Tip of the Day feature to the Help page when the program is started.
  • Added the Help|Send e-mail to TPM command to make requesting technical support and offering feedback easier.
  • Added the Help|Visit TPM website command to make requesting technical support and offering feedback easier.

1st November 2008

  • Fixed the Task name height option in the Edit|Preferences command that had no effect.
  • Fixed the shading of the rows with the Print|Marks command, which looked untidy when class names were shown on the page.
  • Improved the deleting of tasks so if the task you want to delete is used in a calculation, the tasks using it are listed.
  • Improved the Print Preview toolbar to keep the settings of the Show Grid and Shade Alternate Lines between sessions.
  • Improved the Context menu to show the current setting for the number of decimal places shown.
  • Added the Print|Marks with|Extra columns command to make it easier to print marks with the same details as the old SM-Marks. The Marks with options listed below work with this new command.
  • Added the Print|Marks with|Rank option.
  • Added the Print|Marks with|Student ID option.
  • Added the Print|Marks with|Class name option.
  • Added the Print|Marks with|Teacher name option.
  • Added the View|Class name command so the Edit|Preferences command no longer needs to be used to show this column on screen.
  • Added the View|Student ID command so the Edit|Preferences command no longer needs to be used to show this column on screen.
  • Added the ability to change the on screen widths of the task columns with the mouse.
  • Added the Left, Centre and Right options to the marks Context menu to set the justification of the results in a task column.
  • Added a section to the Help about the marks Context menu, i.e. the right click menu.
  • Added more examples to the How do I? section of the Help.
  • Removed the Show teacher on print marks option from the Edit|Preferences command as it is no longer needed because the Print|Marks with|Teacher name option replaces it.

  • Fixed the TPM shortcut in the Windows Start menu to work properly when running on Windows Vista.
